24 May 2000:
Shalom Foundation was established

 

 

December 2001:
Inauguration Ceremony of Peace Centre of Shalom Foundation

 

 

5 November 2001:
Registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs as a Local NGO (Regd. No. 1832).

 

 

May 2002:
Formed Myanmar Ethnic Nationalities Mediators’ Fellowship (ENMF).

 

 

October 2003:
ENMFmet with Mr. Razali Ismail, the special envoy of the UN Secretary General to Myanmar.

 

 

December 2003:
General Khin Nyunt attended Kachin Traditional Harvest Dinner as the new Prime Minister of Myanmar

 

 

29 December 2003:
Organised first Open Forum for ethnic ceasefire armed groups and ENMF

 

 

13 February 2004:
Organised an informal meeting for ethnic armed groups, where 16 out of 17 ceasefire groups participated

 

 

13 May 2004:
Hosted a dinner for leaders and delegates of ceasefire ethnic groups who will attend the National Convention

 

 

1 Jan 2005:
2nd Open Forum of Ceasefire Ethnic Armed Groups

 

 

24 Feb 2005:
More than 45 diplomats and officers from Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited Peace Center in Kachin State.

 

 

22 May 2005:
Shalom Foundation’s Fifth Anniversary Celebration initiating “ANOTHER STEP TO JUST PEACE” through establishing Peace Committees in different ethnic states.

 

 

Sept 2005:
SF organized “Friends for Peace Conference” and Trauma Healing Center established in Waimaw, Kachin State.

 

 

January 2006:
SF has set up the Resource Room in the Yangon Office.

 

 

February 2006:
Interfaith Cooperation Groups was formed with the leaders from 4 main major religious groups in Myanmar

 

 

March 2006:
Child Center Approach Education Programme (CCA) initiated with Education Department of Kachin Independent Organization

 

 

June 2006:
Trauma Healing Center started in Falam, Chin State

 

 

July 2006:
SF organized Interfaith Peace-building Conference

 

 

July 2006:
Trauma Healing Center established in Laiza, Kachin State and Mawlamyine, Mon state.

 

 

2007:
Started participating in Peace Comm Exchange Programme

 

 

April 2007:
Youth Peace Exchange Program among 5 organizations in Asia Pacific started

 

 

August & December 2007:
Wuyan village in Wai Maw Township and Gwi Rut Yang Village in Kachin State were granted community forestry land use registration by the Forest Department of Kachin State as the first time ever in Kachin State

 

 

January 2008:
Modular Course on Conflict Transformation started in partnership with Action Asia

 

 

May 2008:
Trauma Recovery Support Project started in Cyclone Nargis affected regions (Delta).

 

 

December 2008:
CCA Programme expanded to Mon State in partnership with Education Department of New Mon State Party (NMSP).

 

 

2008:
Shalom Foundation hosted Peace Comm Exchange Programme meeting in Yangon

 

 

February 2009:
The 1st Staff Forum of Shalom Foundation held in Bagan

 

 

May 2009:
Shalom Foundation Started Civic Education Programme
